Shoppers Head To Southern California Stores In Search Of Black Friday Deals

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Shoppers were up early Friday in search of the best deals at stores around Southern California.

Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving, vies with the Saturday before Christmas as the biggest sales day, according to the Associated Press.

But the National Retail Federation says that 50 percent of holiday shoppers, in fact, shop before Black Friday.

Various shops at The Citadel in Commerce opened their doors at 8 p.m. Thursday. By Friday, lines formed in front of the Michael Kors store at the outlet mall, which houses more than a hundred different retailers.

Elsewhere, Best Buy in Glendale opened its doors Thursday to bargain-hunters, some of whom had lined up as early as Sunday to take advantage of the deals.
