LASD deputies open fire on suspect in Ladera Heights

Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department deputies were involved in a shooting in Ladera Heights Sunday evening. 

Deputies with the Marina Del Rey Station were dispatched following a call for service on the 3800 block of Chanson Drive. 

When they arrived, they encountered a suspect and the shooting occurred.

The moments leading up to the shooting were not detailed. 

As detailed by the LASD press release, it was a "non-hit shooting."

The suspect was not struck by the gunfire, though authorities did disclose that the individual was apprehended and taken to a nearby hospital for undisclosed reasons. 

There was no additional information available on the incident.
