Shooting Death Investigation Underway In Long Beach

LONG BEACH (CBSLA.com) — Police Wednesday investigated the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a man in Long Beach.

Officers were sent around 11:15 p.m. Tuesday to the 1200 block of Loma Vista Drive for reports of shots heard in the area, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

Upon their arrival, authorities located an adult man suffering from multiple gunshot injuries to his upper torso, lying on the street.

Paramedics pronounced the victim dead at the scene. His identity is being withheld pending family notification.

Detectives have not released a description of the suspect.

The motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
