Sheriff's Investigators Asking Public To Help Them Find Murdered Man's Car

MISSION VIEJO (CBSLA.com)  —   Officials in Orange County on Wednesday asked the public to help them find a murdered man's vehicle.

Orange County sheriff's investigators also identified the murdered man as Francesco "Joey" Bonomolo, 47.

Bonomolo was found slain inside his Mission Viejo apartment about 11:35 a.m. Sunday.

The murdered man lived in the Vista Real Apartments in the 27200 block of Los Altos, said Sheriff's Lt. Jeff Hallock.

Investigators determined Bonomolo's silver-colored 2006 four-door Toyota Corolla was missing. The car, California license plate # 5ULA168, may yield evidence that helps detectives crack the case, Hallock said.

An autopsy concluded Bonomolo's death was a homicide, but investigators would not reveal how he was murdered.

Anyone with information about the case, or the car, was asked to call investigators at (714) 647-7055. Anonymous tips can be made by calling (855) TIP-OCCS or (855) 847-6227.
