Sheriff's In Carson Holding Blood Drive To Aid Ailing Daughter Of 1 Of Their Own

CARSON (CBSLA.com)   —  Sheriff's Deputies in Carson will be hosting a blood drive next month to aid the ailing daughter of one of their own.

Officials say LASD Deputy Jason Gibson's 13 year-old daughter Kennedy is fighting for her life.

Kennedy is suffering from juvenile dermatomyositis -- a rare muscle disease -- and they say blood donations are desperately needed.

In an effort to meet Kennedy's immediate need for blood, Carson deputies are asking the public to go to Children's Hospital of Los Angeles (4650 Sunset Boulevard, Los Angeles 90027), and donate. (Designate your blood donation to Kennedy Jordan Gibson, Female, DOB - August 4, 2000.)

Children's Hospital is also bringing their 40-foot Mobile Blood Donation Van to the Carson Sheriff's Station (21356 South Avalon Boulevard, Carson 90745), on Thursday, June 26, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
