Suspicious Package Forces Evacuations At Riverside County Sheriff's Headquarters

RIVERSIDE (CBSLA.com/AP) — Seven people have been taken to the hospital after an unknown white powder was found with a letter sent to a Southern California sheriff's office.

Riverside County Sheriff's Department Sgt. Chris Willison says the seven department employees were decontaminated Monday and then taken to the hospital as a precaution.

He says none had complained of medical problems.

The package was found shortly after 8:30 a.m. on the fourth floor of the building at 4095 Lemon St. There were no details provided on what type of package was found or what it might have contained.
