Sheriff: Woman Arrested For Fatally Stabbing Boyfriend In Laguna Niguel

LAGUNA NIGUEL (CBSLA.com) — A 50-year-old woman was in custody Sunday for allegedly stabbing and killing her live-in boyfriend.

According to the Orange County Sheriff's Department, deputies were sent around 8:40 p.m. Saturday to the 24800 block of La Vida Drive, for report of a man down.

Once on scene, authorities located a 52-year-old man lying in a neighbor's front lawn suffering from a stab wound to his abdomen.

Paramedics explained they initiated life-saving measures, but were unsuccessful. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The deceased has been identified as Richard Begley, according to the Orange County Coroner's Office.

A preliminary investigation revealed that Michelle Green, of Laguna Niguel, and Begley were involved in a domestic dispute that led to the fatal stabbing.

Green was subsequently arrested for murder in the 24700 block of La Vida Drive, and is being held on $1 million at the Orange County Jail.

The motive for the stabbing and reason for the dispute remains under investigation.

According to officials, Green is expected to appear in court on Tuesday.
