Deputies Release Sketch Of Sexual Predator Targeting Maywood Community

EAST LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Sheriff's deputies released a sketch Tuesday of a man who has attacked at least five women in the Maywood area.

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, the assaults were first reported in early October.

During each crime, the suspect scoped out his victims, then broke into their home through a window during early morning hours and groped women and children inside.

The most recent attack took place around 4 a.m. Saturday in the 3500 block of East 58th Street.

The suspect broke into a 14-year-old girl's bedroom while she slept and covered her mouth. When the girl's mother came to check on her, the suspect fled from the area.

No injuries were reported.

Detectives said the suspect stands 5-foot-2 to 5-foot-5 tall, is believed to be in his 20s, and was last seen wearing a black hoodie jacket.

The City of Maywood has offered a $5,000 reward for information leading to his arrest.

Authorities do not believe that the suspect is armed.

Deputies have urged the public to stay alert and report anything suspicious.

The investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information about this incident has been urged to contact the Los Angeles County East Los Angeles Station's Detective Bureau at (323) 264-4151.
