2 Arrested In NoHo Street Racing Crackdown

NORTH HOLLYWOOD (CBSLA.com) — Police have arrested several people allegedly involved in a street racing group in the San Fernando Valley.

The bust went down around midnight Thursday at a Home Depot parking lot at Sherman Way and Lankershim in North Hollywood, the Los Angeles Police Department said.

A large group had assembled in the parking lot when the LAPD responded, issuing citations for speed violations and unsafe driving and making two arrests. Several cars were also impounded.

The LAPD said the street racers have been very aggressive in the last few months.

"It places officers and civilians at risk. We've has some high profile crashes out here recently that we believe are the result of street racing activities," Sgt. Richard Brunson said.
