Series Of Chain Reaction Crashes Slow Traffic On 110 Freeway In Downtown

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Traffic backed up for miles following at least two collisions involving several vehicles on Interstate 110 in downtown Los Angeles.

The California Highway Patrol says as many as six cars were involved in the rush hour crashes Wednesday in northbound lanes near West 8th Place.

According to the preliminary investigation, one accident involved four vehicles, and two more vehicles got into another accident, CHP Officer Monica Posada said.. At least 15 vehicles were pulled to the side and debris was spread across lanes.

Two left lanes were blocked and traffic backed up as cars inched past the accident scene. All lanes were reopened by 7 a.m.

There were no immediate reports of injuries.
