See's Issues Recall For Incorrectly Labeled Valentine's Candy
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Some heart-shaped boxes of See's chocolates may contain candy that could make people with nut allergies ill, the San Francisco-based confectionaire said.
See's issued an "allergy alert on undisclosed nuts" after it discovered a red heart-shaped box containing an incorrectly labeled chocolate base among boxes that were correctly marked.
People who consume the incorrectly labeled candy and are allergic to coconut, almonds, walnuts or pecans run the risk of a serious or life-threatening reaction, See's said. It did not say if the candy presented any issues for non-allergic persons, however there have not been any reports of illness related to the candy.
See's will refund the purchase price for returns. The affected 8-ounce "Classic Red Hearts With Assorted Chocolates" have a bar code of 737666091201 and a stamped date of "LAN 048/15."
