LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A security guard was shot and wounded Thursday outside a jewelry store in Chinatown.

The shooting occurred about 11 a.m. in the 800 block of North Broadway near Alpine, according to LAPD Officer Jane Kim.

Responding officers found a security guard who had been shot, Kim said. Reports from the scene indicated the officer had been shot in the arm.

The victim's condition wasn't immediately known, but aerial footage appeared to show the guard standing up as he received treatment.
