Suspect Who Escaped From Fontana Police Station In Custody

FONTANA (CBSLA.com) — A suspect who escaped from the Fontana Police Department while being questioned Monday was apprehended by authorities later that evening.

Officers responded to a call regarding the suspect, who goes by various aliases, including Ramon Torres and Ramon Martinez Ramirez, around 3:40 p.m. Sunday.

The suspect allegedly pulled out a gun and threatened to kill people at a home for not paying rent, according to police.

Detectives located the suspect Monday morning in the 6100 block of Merrill Avenue and he was brought into the station. While he was in the interview room, however, he was able to flee.

The suspect was taken into custody Monday night.

No other information was released.
