Search Continues For Ventura Shooting Suspect Who Allegedly Killed 1, Wounded Ex-Girlfriend

VENTURA (CBSLA.com) —  Authorities continue to hunt a suspect in the shooting death of one person and the wounding of another inside a Ventura home Thursday.

Officials on Thursday received a 911 call from a 20 year-old female at a residence in the 1600 block of Tapir Circle reporting that she had been shot.

Upon arrival, officers found the female outside the residence, suffering from multiple life-threatening gunshots. She was transported to Ventura County Medical Center admitted into surgery. The victim is in serious condition.

Inside the residence, officers found a 47 year-old male who had been shot to death.

The female victim was reportedly the suspect's ex-girlfriend. They were not living together at the time of the shooting, authorities said.

Authorities also said an adult female and a 16-month-old child were also located inside the residence. They were uninjured.

The Ventura Police Department identified the suspect as Brandon Ellis, 29. The suspect is described as white, 6 feet 1 inches tall, about 200 pounds, blond hair and blue eyes.

Ellis was driving a yellow Penske box truck that has since been found and recovered in Santa Monica. Police said he should be considered armed and dangerous.

The victims names were not released.
