Search Continues For 2 Outstanding Robbers In West Hollywood

WEST HOLLYWOOD (CBSLA.com) — One suspect is in custody, but two more are at large after robbing at least two people on a street in West Hollywood, pistol-whipping one of them, authorities said Tuesday.

The robbery took place at about 9:30 p.m. Monday near the intersection of Sunset Boulevard and Hilldale Avenue, Los Angeles County sheriff's Lt. Vance Duffy said.

One of the victims was pistol-whipped, Duffy said. The victim's condition was not immediately reported.

The three robbers had fled into an area around Melrose Avenue, between San Vicente and La Cienega boulevards, according to the sheriff's department.

"We set up a containment, brought in K-9 units and an airship and then began a ground search of the area," Duffy said early this morning. "We caught one of the men but the other two are still outstanding."

Duffy said the search ended early Tuesday morning after a search perimeter was thoroughly combed.
