Stray Bullet Hits Windshield Of School Bus In South LA

SOUTH LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Police Thursday searched for a gunman who fired his weapon at a school bus in South Los Angeles.

The shooting was reported around 6:30 a.m. near South Figueroa Street and Manchester Avenue, authorities said.

Upon their arrival, officers discovered a bullet had pierced the front windshield of the bus.

No students were on board and the bus driver was uninjured.

CBS2's Jasmine Viel reported the bus was supposed to end its route at Marina del Rey Middle School.

A preliminary investigation revealed a gunshot was fired during a nearby altercation, which subsequently struck the bus.

No arrests have been made.
