Santa Clarita Boy, 4, Becomes Internet Sensation As Instagram's 'Mini Style Hacker'

SANTA CLARITA (CBSLA.com) — At home, 4-year-old Ryker Wixom is a typical toddler.

But the stylish Santa Clarita preschooler can also now call himself an Internet sensation after proving he can strike a pose as well as any celebrity.

His mother, Collette Wixom, says her son unexpectedly became a fashion-forward Internet star after she founded @ministylehacker on Instagram six months ago.

"This is a whirlwind for me. I didn't think that anybody would look at my Instagram account," she told KCAL9's Kristine Lazar.

More than 181,000 people were following the account as of Monday afternoon.

It's still a shock to the mother of two, who got the idea after noticing fashionable kids on the photo-sharing app.

"It felt really unattainable to me. Like something that most people would just brush off because, I mean, who has Gucci in their 4-year-old's closet?" she asked.

Collette set out to mimic high-fashion looks on a shoestring budget, using Ryker, and sometimes 2-year-old Grey, as her models. And people from all over world took notice.

"I have heard from people from Australia, Spain, Poland. Literally, anywhere that you can think of, I have heard from," she said.

Designers have started to send Ryker free fashion and thousands of dollars to model their clothes.

He's not always in the mood to take photos, so Collette makes it a game.

"The minute that it is not fun is the minute that we will stop doing it," she said.
