Santa Ana Police Arrest Homicide, Kidnap Suspect

SANTA ANA (CBSLA.com)   —  Santa Ana Police announced the arrest of a homicide and kidnapping suspect Saturday.

Authorities said that around 1:30 a.m. Saturday morning, SAPD officers were dispatched to a residence in the 1200 block of S. Oak Street, regarding a stabbing.

A witness told them a male and female had been stabbed and the female was subsequently abducted by the stabbing suspect.

The suspect has been identified Teodoro Bernal Nunez, 38.

Patrol officers arrived on scene and found a 27-year-old man unconscious and unresponsive. Medics arrived and declared the man deceased.

Brea Police observed the suspect vehicle in their city and conducted a traffic stop. Nunez was  detained and a 38-year-old woman -- suffering with a severe stab wound -- was taken to a nearby hospital.

Authorities believe the female victim and Nunez previously dated but to what extent is still under investigation. Authorities said the woman had an active restraining order against the suspect.

Nunez will be booked for murder, attempted murder, kidnapping, false imprisonment, and violation of a court order.
