San Clemente Beach Reopens After 2 Shark Sightings

SAN CLEMENTE (AP/CBSLA.com) — An Orange County beach has reopened following two shark sightings.

Marine Safety Officer Ian Burton says San Clemente Beach is back in business Saturday, according to City News Service.

About a one-mile stretch of beach was closed Friday after a surfer reported seeing a shark.

Another sighting had been reported Thursday night, but Burton says the beach was kept open because nearly no one was in the water.

After Friday's sighting, a lifeguard ordered everyone out of the water and found the 6- to 7-foot shark while on a jet ski.
