San Bernardino Police Search For Suspect Who Fired At Community Service Officer

SAN BERNARDINO (CBSLA.com) — San Bernardino police on Wednesday were searching for a suspect who shot at a civilian community service officer.

The San Bernardino Police Department said at about 2 p.m., at least one shot was fired at a community service officer who was retrieving a stolen vehicle near 2nd St. and Meridian Ave.

Community service officers are civilians who work with the police department but are not sworn officers.

The officer was not injured.

SWAT was on the scene Wednesday afternoon, sweeping the area for the suspect.
