San Bernardino Police Search For Mother Of Abandoned Girl

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Officers are looking for the mother of a girl abandoned Thursday in the city of San Bernardino.

The woman, who goes by  the name Lucia, dropped off the child with a person around noon and then left with a friend, according to San Bernardino police. She said she was going to the courthouse and has failed to return.

The mother has left the girl with this person in the past but they say she has always returned.

The girl, who is called Veronica, is described as Hispanic, three feet tall and 40 pounds. She has brown hair and brown eyes.

The mother is described as Hispanic, approximately 35 years old, five-foot-five and 140 pounds. She has black hair and is missing her front teeth.

Officers have been unable to locate where the mother lives and are asking the public's help in finding her. Anyone with information is urged to contact the San Bernardino Police Department at (909) 384-5742.
