San Bernardino Firefighters Capture Rare Body-Cam Footage Of Firefight

VICTORVILLE (CBSLA.com) —When San Bernardino County firefighters responded to a raging house fire in Victorville  on Wednesday, some wore body cameras that captured rare first-person footage of the intense firefight.

The footage, posted online Friday by the San Bernardino County Fire Department, shows firefighters arriving to see flames pouring from the windows of a single-story home and thick, black smoke billowing into the air. With the fire still blazing, firefighters climb onto the roof to saw ventilation holes, allowing heat and smoke to escape, while other firefighters carry a hose inside to tamp the flames.

The fight lasted about 30 minutes. The seven people who live in the house were waiting outside the house before the firefighters arrived and were unharmed. The home sustained about $200,000 in damage.
