Safety Concerns Prompt Ban Of Selfie-Sticks From Disney Theme Parks

ANAHEIM (CBSLA.com) — Disney has announced that it's banning selfie-sticks from its theme parks starting next week.

A park spokesperson says the sticks pose a safety concern for both guests and performers.

The ban of the sticks from Disney-owned theme parks will begin Tuesday.

A Disneyland roller coaster just this week had to be stopped when a rider pulled out a selfie-stick.

The incident on the California Screamin' ride happened Wednesday in Anaheim.

The selfie-sticks have poles that can be attached to cellphone cameras and have already been banned from certain rides.
