Rosa Parks Metro Station Set For $39 Million Upgrade

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — The Blue Line is getting $39 million in state funding in order to renovate the Rosa Parks Metro Station.

State and local officials gathered at the Rosa Parks Metro Station on the eleven-thousand block of Willowbrook Ave this morning, to announce the grant to the public.

The $39 million grant is provided under the California Climate Investments Program.

The renovation is all a part of a statewide effort to improve mass transit while encouraging clean energy that reduces greenhouse gases.

Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas was joined by state transportation officials among others at the announcement.

The grant will provide the Rosa Parks station with a new plaza, enhanced parking, a sheriff's substation, and traffic signal enhancement along the Blue Line.
