Rocks, Bottles Thrown At Officers In Watts Prompting Massive Police Response

WATTS (CBSLA.com) — Police say rocks and bottles were thrown at officers Wednesday night while police were conducting an investigation of an officer-needs-help call.  The violence prompted a massive response from LAPD and the LA Sheriff's Department.

The incident escalated after 10 p.m. near 112th Street in the Nickerson Gardens area and dozens of police and sheriff units formed a perimeter. Police say an LAPD unit had a window shattered.
