Rockies Walk-Off Against Dodgers; Magic Number Stays At 2

DENVER (CBSLA.com) — Dodgers starter Brett Anderson surrendered six straight hits, including a grand slam, before he even recorded an out.

Nolan Arenado's 1st inning grand slam put the Rockies up 4-0 early.

The Dodgers would claw their way back however, starting with a 2nd inning 2-run home run from Andre Ethier.

The Rockies would add runs in the 3rd and 4th thanks to an RBI single from D.J. LeMahieu and an RBI double from Justin Morneau.

Anderson could only make it through 4 innings, but the lefty only threw 70 pitches.

Alex Guerrero hit a pinch-hit RBI single in the 5th inning when he hit for Anderson, making the score 6-3.

The Dodgers tied the game in the top half of the 6th inning. Chase Utley hit an RBI single to score Corey Seager, and Andre Ethier and Justin Turner both hit RBI doubles.

After Adam Liberatore pitched two scoreless innings for the Dodgers, Pedro Baez came in the game in the 7th and retired the only two batters he faced before giving way to Luis Avilan.

Joc Pederson made a sprawling catch in left-center to keep the game tied and retire the side in the 7th.

Yimi Garcia came into the game with two men on in the 8th inning and struck out Willin Rosario and got Charlie Blackmon to pop out to end the inning.

Justin Miller pitched a 1-2-3 9th inning for the Rockies, retiring A.J Ellis, Joc Pederson and Scott Van Slyke.

Yimi Garcia remained in the game to pitch the 9th and surrendered a lead-off single to D.J. LeMahieu.

Carlos Gonzalez came up next and delivered the game winning walk-off home run to deep center field.

The Giants beat the Athletics today in Oakland, keeping the Dodgers magic number at 2.
