Robbery Suspect Shot By Police After Allegedly Flashing Phony Gun

CORONA (CBSLA.com)   —  Authorities say a man was shot by police as he fled from a robbery at a McDonald's in Corona where he allegedly flashed a fake gun.

Dispatchers received a 911 call at 10:15 p.m. Friday about the armed robbery at 400 N. McKinley Ave. A man matching the suspect's description was spotted running from the fast food restaurant by arriving officers, Corona police Sgt. Kim Velasco said.

The officers chased the suspect to a Mobil gas station on North McKinley Avenue, where the suspect was shot and wounded. The robber suffered a non- life threatening injury and was taken to a hospital, Velasco said.

The money stolen from the McDonald's restaurant was recovered and no officers were hurt.

An investigation was on-going, the sergeant said.

In an unrelated story, Los Angeles County Sheriff's were also involved with a male suspect in the parking lot of the House of Blues on Sunset in West Hollywood early Saturday.

A deputy-involved shooting happened around 1:50 a.m., authorities said.

The male suspect was treated at the scene for non-life threatening injuries, officials said.

No deputies were involved in the incident, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Deputy Don Walker.
