Robbery Suspect Arrested Following Standoff At Calabasas Apartment Complex

CALABASAS (CBSLA.com) — Authorities Sunday arrested a robbery suspect following a standoff situation at an apartment complex in Calabasas.

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, John Marciniak, 26, was taken into custody in the 5900 block of Las Virgines Road.

Marciniak allegedly assaulted his father before authorities served a search warrant at his home.

His father was able to flee from the residence safely.

Nearby residents were evacuated as a precaution while authorities worked to get Marciniak out of the home.

Marciniak is accused of robbing a gas station in Ventura on August 11, deputies explained.

The investigation is ongoing.
