Riverside Woman Arrested In Deadly Hit-And-Run

RIVERSIDE (CBSLA.com) — A 30-year old Riverside woman has been arrested in connection with a deadly hit-and-run in Bloomington.

CHP investigators say 39-year-old Ricardo Valdez was towing a disabled car on Cedar Avenue near the 10 Freeway when a Nissan Altima slammed into him from behind just before 2 a.m. Tuesday.

The driver of that car got out and ran away.

Several hours later police arrested Maria Ochoa on suspicion of drunk driving, vehicular manslaughter and felony hit-and-run.

Valdez leaves behind a wife and two young daughters.

Ochoa is expected to make her first court appearance this week. She is being held on $250,000 bond.
