Riverside Police Bust Spa Alleging It's Front For Prostitution

RIVERSIDE (CBSLA.com) — The Riverside Police Department Vice and Narcotics units busted a spa last Thursday calling the business a front for prostitution.

The business, "The Devine Treasure," is located in the 8500 block of Indiana Avenue.

Authorities said during the undercover operation, evidence was uncovered alleging the business was being used as a brothel.

Male officers, working undercover, entered the business and were solicited for prostitution, according to police.

A search warrant was obtained resulting in the arrest of the business owner for filing false documents with the city, operating a house of ill-fame and pimping.

Adults found guilty of filing false documents face up to a $10,000 fine, and up to three years in jail. Adults found guilty of operating a house for prostitution could face to one year of jail. Adults found guilty of pimping could get six years.

The Riverside Police Department's Vice Unit said this latest sting was a continuing effort to combat street level prostitution.
