Riverside Man, 58, Faces Minimum 10 Years In Prison After Pleading Guilty To Possessing Child Porn For Third Time

RIVERSIDE (CBSLA.com)  —   Authorities say a Riverside man faces 10 years behind bars after pleading guilty to possessing child porn.

The US Attorney's Office announced that James Gregory O'Neill, 58, pleaded guilty on Jan. 25.

O'Neill could be sentenced to up to 20 years because of two prior child porn convictions.

He pleaded guilty to having up to 97 images of child porn on an SD memory card on his cell phone. He was previously convicted in 2003 for child porn possession and sentenced to 40 months in prison. He was  convicted again in 2011 in Riverside County Superior Court.

"Despite being convicted twice previously for possessing child pornography, Mr. O'Neill continued to victimize children by creating a market
for child pornography," said U.S. Attorney Eileen M. Decker. "It is one of the highest priorities of my office to prosecute those who would seek to victimize children, and in particular those who do so repeatedly."

O'Neill will be sentenced on April 18.
