Rialto Man Beaten Repeatedly With Baseball Bat Fighting For Life

RIALTO (CBSLA.com) — A Rialto man is fighting for his life Tuesday after being beaten repeatedly in the head with a baseball bat in what police say was an unprovoked attack.

Jeremiah Bell, 22, of Fontana, was arrested Monday at his apartment on suspicion of attempted murder in connection with the attack on 54-year-old Armando Barron of Rialto.

Police were called Sunday at about 2:30 p.m. to the 300 block of North Maple Avenue in Rialto on a call of assault with a deadly weapon and found Barron, who was taken to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Bell is being held on $100,000 bail and is scheduled to make his first court appearance Wednesday.

Anyone with information about the investigation can contact Detective David Padilla at (909) 421-7227.
