Officials To Offer $10K Reward For Information In Disappearance Of Littlerock Mother

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors will offer a $10,000 reward Thursday for information about the disappearance of a 28-year-old woman.

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, Monique Figueroa, a Hispanic mother to a 2-year-old girl, was reported missing around 4 p.m. on May 19, 2015.

She was last seen driving a black 2004 Mercedes Benz from her residence, located in the 7200 block of East Avenue U-12, in Littlerock.

Figueroa's Mercedes was located 11 days later in the Palmdale/Juniper Hills area. On discovery of the vehicle, authorities believed Figueroa was the victim of foul play.

Detectives described Figueroa as a woman who has shoulder length brown hair and hazel eyes. She stands 5-foot-3 tall and weighs 140 pounds.

It remains unclear what type of clothing she was wearing at the time of her disappearance.

Last month, friends and family held a vigil on the one-year anniversary of her disappearance.

Following up on a tip, officials said they searched an area where they believed her body might have been found but the search turned up nothing.

Last month, the woman's father told CBS2/KCAL9 that he believed one of his daughter's friends -- convicted of murder in another case -- was responsible for her disappearance, believing she had information in the other case.

"She was afraid for her life," Jeff Figueroa said, "and it was only a few weeks later that she disappeared."
