Reports: Rapper Nipsey Hussle To Perform At 'Made In America' Despite Arrest

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Rapper Nipsey Hussle is expected to perform during this weekend's "Made in America" music festival despite being detained by police late Friday night, according to published reports.

According to MTV.com, the rapper's management team released a statement regarding his arrest, which occurred around 11:30 p.m. on West Slauson Avenue.

The statement said the 29-year-old was detained along with several others while picking up food from a restaurant.

The statement also said Nipsey was released Saturday morning and no charges had been filed.

Police would not independently confirm the arrest to CBSLA but did indicate that a "known rapper" was among those arrested.

According to police, the incident occurred during a probation compliance check of an individual at the location. They did not elaborate on who that individual was. Police did say that two arrests were made.

Further details were not released by authorities.

Meanwhile, Nipsey confirmed that he would perform at the "Made in America" Festival in downtown Los Angeles on Sunday via his official Twitter account (@NipseyHussle) stating, "I will be at my show in Reno today and also #MadeInAmericaFestival on Sunday #themarathoncontinues."
