Reports: Casey Kasem Buried In Norway Months After His Death

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Casey Kasem has been buried in Norway months after his death, according to multiple published reports.

Citing a Norwegian publication, the Los Angeles Times says the burial took place Dec. 16 at Vestre Cemetery in Oslo.

Celebrity website TMZ.com reports that Kasem's children were not at the burial.

The legendary broadcaster died June 15 at 82.

His death followed a very public dispute between his wife and eldest children. who had alleged that the radio icon was being held prisoner inside his Holmby Hills estate.

Kasem's daughter Kerri Kasem announced Monday on her official Facebook page that she learned that her father had been buried in Norway.

"Even with ALL the letters ... from my father's friends and family stating that he wanted to be buried in the UNITED STATES, the country in which he was born and raised, his wishes were, once again, ignored," Kasem said.

CBSLA.com has not been able to independently confirm the location nor date of Kasem's burial.

Kasem had one of the most distinctive and recognized voices in broadcasting from 1970 through his retirement in 2009. He hosted several successful coast-to-coast radio shows, including "American Top 40," "American Top 20" and "American Top 10."
