Report: Victim Shot In Downtown Near LA Live

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Police officers responded to reports of shots being fired near the popular entertainment complex of LA Live on Tuesday night.

A shooting reportedly occurred under an overpass of the 110 freeway shortly before 10 p.m. near the Los Angeles Convention Center.

The victim, a Latino male in his 20s, reportedly then drove four blocks to nearby to LA Live.

The victim, who reportedly had a gunshot wound to the upper body, has been transferred to a hospital. His condition is unknown, but he was reported to be both conscious and breathing en route to the hospital.

Officers responded to the intersection of Chick Hearn Court and Cherry Street.

The shooting may have occurred at the intersection of Albany and Olympic.

LAPD has shut down a corner near the Convention Center to traffic.
