Report: 'Partridge Family' Manager Dave Madden Dies At 82

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — TMZ is reporting the death of actor Dave Madden, best known for playing "Partridge Family" manager Reuben Kincaid in the 70s era sitcom.

Madden was 82.

The Canadian-born actor was also known for playing Earl on "Alice" (1978-85) and for often appearing on such shows as "Laugh-In" and "Love, American Style."

Madden played the Partridge family's put-upon and often beleaguered manager. Reuben who was no fan of kids, was usually out-witted by little Danny played by Danny Bonaduce.

On Twitter, Bonaduce Thursday said he and Madden got along famously.

The sitcom (which ran on ABC from 1970-74) was loosely based on the real-life musical band "The Cowsills."

Madden authored his life story in 2009. The book was titled "Reuben On Wry -- The Memoirs Of Dave Madden."

In a candid and funny 2008 interview promoting his book's upcoming release, Madden was asked what he liked most about playing Reuben.

"The money!" he said, "Any TV actor who answers differently is probably lying. Face it, it's not exactly Shakespeare."
