Report: LAUSD Board Discussing Possible Deasy Departure
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — The LAUSD Board of Education may be one step closer to determining the future of Superintendent John Deasy.
The board met Tuesday behind closed doors to discuss Deasy's upcoming review on Oct. 21.
According to the Los Angeles Times, the board has hired lawyers to discuss a possible departure agreement with the superintendent.
It was unclear if the deal would include a buyout.
Deasy has been under fire for his roll out of a $1 billion technology program and MISIS, a struggling computerized student tracking system.
His contract runs through 2016, however, he can be removed from his post at any time.
