Report: LA County Has 11 Most Expensive Auto Insurance Cities
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Los Angeles residents are beginning to feel the sting of inflated auto insurance costs.
A recent report showed that Los Angeles drivers are getting hit with high rates compared to other counties, according to KNX 1070's Jon Baird.
(KNX 1070) - LA County has highest auto insurance rates.
"LA county has the highest car insurance costs out of all the California counties, and LA city, in particular, ranks second to last," WalletHub.com senior analyst John Kiernan told Baird.
According to the report, Glendale residents pay the most out of any city in Los Angeles county, with Santa Maria residents paying the least. Lake Forest in Orange County is also considered a lowered-rate area, with rates about 8% below average.
Additionally, the 11 most expensive cities for auto insurance rates are all in Los Angeles county.
Meanwhile, the premiums for women compared to men appear to be about equal.
"It's kind of interesting," Kiernan said. "It doesn't really settle the debate over who's the better driver, really."
