Fontana Man Arrested On Suspicion Of Lewd Acts With A Minor

FONTANA (CBSLA.com) — A man and an alleged victim's mother were behind bars Tuesday on suspicion of sexual abuse.

An investigation began on Feb. 3 when Fontana sheriff's deputies received a report of a possible sexual abuse involving a teenage girl.

Mauro Hernandez, 48, was identified as the man who knew the victim and her family. An arrest warrant was secured and Hernandez surrendered to detectives Feb. 11.

The alleged victim's mother was also interviewed and taken into custody on the same day. Her name was not released for the protection of the victim.

Hernandez was transported and booked into the West Valley Detention Center for several counts of sexual abuse of a minor. His bail was set at $1 million.

The woman was being held for child endangerment on $100,000 bail.
