Randle Turns Heads In Lakers Preseason Loss To Raptors

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Julius Randle showed why he was selected with the seventh overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft in the Lakers' third preseason game of the year on Thursday.

The Lakers big man scored 17 points on 7-10 shooting, and added 5 rebounds and 3 assists.

This year's first-round pick, D'Angelo Russell, was held out of the contest due to a sore glute.

Kobe Bryant also had a solid night, scoring 16 points on 5-11 shooting, and added 3 rebounds, 3 assists, and 1 steal as well.

Bryant went 4-4 from the free throw line, and played 22 minutes, a high for him this preseason.

Kyle Lowry led the Raptors to a 105-97 win over the Lakers, scoring a game-high 25 points on 8-13 shooting from the field.

The Raptors new signees, DeMarre Carroll and Cory Joseph, each scored 18 points in 23 minutes of game play.

The Lakers will play an exhibition game at 6:30 p.m. PT on Sunday against the Maccabi Haifa.
