Rams Doubled Their Value With Move To LA, Report Says

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — The Rams organization doubled its value by moving into the rich media market of Los Angeles, according to a Forbes report.

After departing St. Louis, the Rams organization is now valued at $2.9 billion, according to Forbes, which ranked all the NFL teams based on available revenue figures and recent dealmaking activity within the league. The Rams brought in revenue of $317 million last year, according to the magazine.

No team increased its value in the last year as much as the Rams, according to the report.

The team's value could continue to increase with the completion of a massive mixed-use stadium project in Inglewood.

"The Rams could soon be worth close to $4 billion if Stan Kroenke scores with his $3 billion mixed-use real estate project that could bring him hundreds of millions of dollars more than his team was making in St. Louis, net of the relocation fee he agreed to pay ($650 million over 10 years, in equal installments, starting after the 2019 season)," the report said.

That valuation would rival the most valuable franchise in the NFL -- and in all of sports -- the Dallas Cowboys. The Cowboys are worth $4.2 billion this year, Forbes said.

The Buffalo Bills ranked last in the NFL, with a value of $1.5 billion.
