Rain Triggers Debris Flow In Glendora Neighborhood

GLENDORA (CBSLA.com) — Heavy rain early Friday triggered debris flows and flash flood warnings in the residential areas of the Colby fire burn zone.

The National Weather Service issued a flash flood warning for the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains from Pasadena to Claremont.

The rain also triggered a debris flow that blocked the entrance to a gated community and damaged a house in the 1100 block of Easley Canyon Road.

"The home, to the rear of it, has approximately four feet of mud against it that obviously seeped into the home," said Los Angeles County Fire Department Battalion Chief Mike Short.

Residents have been directed to remove vehicles, trash bins and other potential obstructions from streets.

Glendora city crews plan to put up more k-rails to in fire-affected areas to control mudflow later Friday.
