Los Angeles Department of Water and Power reports 744 customers were left without power due to a possible lightning strike.

Crews worked into the night to restore power to the area. Firefighters diverted traffic around the downed lines.

Meanwhile, the Sarno family ordered takeout food and sat in their dark home on what was a chillier-than-average spring night.

"It's really cold in the house. It's frosty up here," Marta Sarno said.

Luckily, they had one battery-powered lantern that still worked.

The storm hit this family's home harder than most.

"It hit right here, and it shook the house, and the dog jumped. My daughter came out, 'Papa, what happened?!' I told her, 'I think we got hit by lightning,'" said Greg Sarno, chuckling.

A DWP spokesperson said they expected to have power restored by midnight.
