150 Railroad Ties Damaged In Fire At Vernon Lumber Yard

VERNON (CBSLA) - A fire at a lumber yard in Vernon damaged more than 100 unused railroad ties Friday, authorities said.

No injuries were reported in the fire.

Crews were dispatched to the 3500 block of East Washington Boulevard at
9:20 a.m.

The fire was put out in about half an hour, according to officials.

Four tracks were temporarily shut down after as many as 150 unused railroad ties caught fire.

No injuries were reported.

Investigators were looking into the cause of the fire.
