Raiders Owner Mark Davis Says Oakland Is On Its 'Last Chance' To Keep Raiders

OAKLAND (CBSLA.com) -In October of 2013, the Oakland Raiders were excited to have an investment firm worth $32 billion propose a state-of-the-art 'sports and entertainment center' that would include a new home for the silver and black.

However, according to the San Francisco Chronicle, owner Mark Davis said he hasn't heard anything from Colony Capital LLC – third largest private held real estate firm in the world –in five months.

"I don't want to call it a last-ditch effort, but it does seem to be the last chance that Oakland is going to get," Davis told the San Francisco Chronicle. "We can't continue to play in that stadium, with the baseball field and all of that stuff."

The O. co stadium lease expired in 2013, but with the hopes of the project moving forward, Davis signed a one-year extension lease for the Raiders to remain in Oakland.

"I had high hopes when Colony Capital came in.," said Davis. "I still do have hopes, but they're not as high because I haven't really heard anything positive from either group. It's gone silent again. We have to get something done."

The Raiders are playing in the third oldest stadium in the NFL, behind Soldier and Lambeu Field, and is the only team that still shares the stadium with a baseball team – Oakland A's.

Although Davis did not mention any cities as a future hosts, I'm sure he has the NFL-less city of Los Angeles on his mind.
