3.1-Magnitude Quake Jolts San Fernando Valley

PACOIMA (CBSLA.com) — A minor earthquake rattled parts of the San Fernando Valley, the U.S. Geological Survey reported Wednesday.

The quake was initially reported by the USGS as recording a magnitude of 3.2 but has since been downgraded to 3.1.

The USGS says the temblor struck about 8:59 p.m. and was centered 4 miles north northwest of Pacoima and 4 miles north northwest of San Fernando.

The quake was felt in North Hollywood, Sherman Oaks, and Granada Hills, according to responses posted to the USGS website.

Those responses described the quake as a "sharp jolt."

So far, there have been no reports of injuries or damage.
