Quake With Preliminary Magnitude Of 3.5 Hits Banning Area, USGS Says

BANNING (CBSLA.com) — A minor quake has been reported in Riverside County.

The U.S. Geological Survey says the 3.5 magnitude quake hit just before 7 a.m. Sunday 5.6 miles north-northwest of Banning, and 6.2 miles northeast of Beaumont.

So far, residents in Banning, Yucaipa, Beaumont, Redlands, Cabazon, and San Jacinto reported feeling the quake, according to responses posted to the USGS website.

There have been no reports of damage or injuries.
