Pursuit Suspect Arrested In San Gabriel After Officer-Involved Shooting

SAN GABRIEL (CBSLA.com) — A suspect who led police on a chase in an SUV into a San Gabriel neighborhood and ran off after exchanging gunfire with officers has been arrested.

Police conducting a traffic stop at about 4:30 a.m. gave chase when the driver fled the scene, leading officers into a cul-de-sac where he got out and ran off.

It's not clear if the suspect was injured in the officer-involved shooting. The suspect was taken into custody shortly before 9:30 a.m.

The eastbound 10 Freeway Del Mar Avenue carpool lane offramp and the westbound Del Mar Avenue offramps and onramps were closed at about 5:40 a.m. to allow police to search the area. The SigAlert for the closure was canceled at about 11:30 a.m.
