Pursuit Of Carjacking Suspect Ends With Crash In Northridge

NORTHRIDGE (CBSLA.com)  –  A pursuit of a carjacking suspect Sunday evening ended with the suspect crashing into a fence in Northridge.

After remaining holed up in the vehicle for about 15 minutes, the suspect surrendered to police, reported Gordon Spencer in Sky2.

The alleged carjacker took the vehicle -- a silver Audi -- from the Santa Monica area around 10:15 p.m., police said.

The suspect crashed in the area of Napa Street and Wystone Avenue in Northridge.

The suspect slowly exited the vehicle and was then cuffed and taken into custody.

The unidentified suspect was transported in an ambulance, taken to a nearby hospital for observation, officials said.
